Polycystic Ovaries Treatment – The Facts

Polycystic ovaries are widespread in women of all age groups. It is basically a disease in which women develop multiple cysts or tumor like lesions in their ovaries which affects her ability to become pregnant naturally.

There are also many other complications connected with polycystic ovaries which evolve slowly over time. It has been found that polycystic ovaries tend to have an effect on the hormone cycle dramatically. Hormones that help the body in regulating the natural development of eggs in female ovaries are affected, which in turn prevents pregnancy. It can also play havoc on the menstrual cycle. However, how polycystic ovaries influence the hormone cycles to interrupt the same is still not clear, though there are  a few theories.

Polycystic ovaries have been connected with various other female complications as well. It has various symptoms, like for example inability to lose weight, and tendency to gain weight rapidly all-around the belly region, delayed periods, acne and pimples, excessive facial hair, recurrent miscarriages, problems in conceiving and many more. While it is not essential for a woman to have all these signs, in nearly all of the cases, more than one of these signs is present as a prominent sign of polycystic ovaries.

Physicians have recently come up with yet one more risk connected with polycystic ovaries. It is now suggested that woman having polycystic ovaries is at an increased risk of developing diabetes. It is normally recommended that when a woman is taking medications for polycystic ovaries, she must likewise take medicine for diabetes on a daily basis to prevent the disease. It is a fact that women with polycystic ovaries are more susceptible to blood sugar related disorders and that can make them glucose intolerant too. Preventative measure, like for example diet modification and measures to lose and regulate body weight must be taken.

As it is a common condition that numerous women have, there are a range of polycystic ovaries treatment alternatives. The conventional approach to treating PCOS involves regulating your hormones (by taking birth control pills), or else surgery. Neither addresses the underlying cause of the cysts, and of course birth control is totally inappropriate if you are trying to get pregnant.

An alternative way to cure PCOS is the natural approach. A lot of women have had success with a natural holistic approach to treating PCOS, using an all inclusive program that covers areas such as diet, nutrition, and ph and hormone balance.

There are many ways of handling polycystic ovaries apart from the conventional approach and you must choose the method that will suit you. But by tackling the real causes of your PCOS (usually related to imbalances within the body), you can get rid of the cysts for good – using all natural methods.

Ruptured Ovarian Cyst Symptoms and Consequences

Ruptured ovarian cysts, as any woman who has had one will tell you, can be incredibly painful. Many women have ovarian cysts without even knowing it, and often they just disappear themselves. But sometimes they continue to grow, and if left untreated, the walls of the cyst will get thinner, and eventually it may burst, or rupture.

It is unusual for the pain experienced from a ruptured ovarian cyst to be the first symptom a woman feels. Because the cyst is typically quite large before it ruptures, it usually causes a good deal of discomfort and pain.

Typical symptoms include:

- abdominal pain, particularly during the menstrual period
- irregular menstrual cycles
- feeling the need to urinate frequently (as the large cyst puts pressure on the bladder)
- sometimes difficulty urinating
- feeling of pressure or heaviness in the stomach

The symptoms of a ruptured ovarian cyst are very similar, but usually the pain is much more intense. It also usually comes very suddenly – a cyst rupturing is like a water balloon bursting, so the pain is sharp and sudden. Thankfully, the severe pain is usually quite short lived (typically ebbing within 24 hours), and the pressure is relieved from the ‘balloon’ on your ovary.

Mostly, after the rupture the ovary will heal itself, and there will be no further complications. But this is not always the case. The ovary can get infected, which if left untreated can have serious implications for your health and your ability to conceive.

Sometimes, the rupture can cause the ovary to twist, restricting blood flow and causing severe pain. The wound may be slow to heal, so increasing the chance of scar tissue forming. Again, this can affect fertility.

If you think your cyst might have ruptured, you should get medical attention right away. At the very least, you will probably need strong painkillers. If the intense pain does not subside after 24 hours, it is likely that the ovary has twisted or infection has set in. In this case, it is absolutely essential to get expert medical help.

Once the cyst has ruptured, it is gone. If you only had one cyst, the problems it caused prior to the rupture should end. However, it is unfortunately quite likely that the cyst will come back again. Unless you do something to change them, the underlying problems which caused the cyst are still present.

The natural holistic approach to treating and preventing ovarian cysts addresses these underlying causes. By getting your internal balance right, particularly through altering your diet and metabolism, you can get rid of your ovarian cysts for good – without drugs or surgery.

Relieving Ovarian Cyst Symptoms

Ovarian cysts are as common as cold and flu in women. Every woman is likely to develop ovarian cysts during their reproductive years- although they may not even realise they have cysts, as they often show no symptoms and disappear themselves. And thankfully, although in a few rare cases ovarian cysts can be cancerous, they are mostly benign.

If your cysts are asymptomatic, it is usually because they remain small and then disappear naturally. But in some cases ovarian cysts can continue to grow (occasionally as big as a melon, although this is extreme).

When this happens, you will usually start to experience certain characteristic symptoms. These include stabbing pain in the abdominal region, and pregnancy like signs – such as vomiting, nausea, tenderness of the breasts and general discomfort. Paradoxically, infertility is also a common ovarian cyst symptom that is often undiagnosed.

Fullness, pressure on the lower abdomen and back and severe problems in sitting in one position for long could also be equally disturbing as ovarian cyst symptoms.  There could be signs of swelling, bloating, pressure on the bladder or rectum and problems in passing urine too.

Home Remedies To Relieve Ovarian Cyst Symptoms

In the short term, painkillers will help in relieving the ovarian cyst symptoms and pain, but these can have serious side effects, so are only a temporary fix. When in severe pain, even strong painkillers will have a limited effect. To avoid the overuse of painkillers, many women try to use some natural remedies as well.

One of the commonest ways of treating ovarian cyst symptoms naturally is by using heat. Heat can be applied to the painful region. You can use a heating pad that will reduce the pain immediately, and that is one of the best ideas when you are at home. Taking a long hot bath can also help relieve the ovarian cyst symptoms.

Changing your eating habits is another tactic to reduce ovarian cyst pain. There are some foods that might intensify this pain and similarly there are other foods that will relieve pain. You should avoid spicy and rich foods, as it contains chemicals that can worsen the pain and other ovarian cyst symptoms.

In the longer term, you need to tackle the cause of the cyst rather than just the symptoms. Diet is central to the natural holistic approach to treating ovarian cysts, and when combined with other natural strategies to correct your internal balance, can be an incredibly effective way to not only relieve the symptoms of ovarian cysts, but to eliminate them altogether – and permanently.

If you or one of your loved ones is suffering from ovarian cysts, you should try the natural holistic approach – thousands of women around the world have totally cured their cysts using these methods, without the need for any drugs or surgery.

Ovarian Cyst Surgery Facts

Ovarian cyst surgery is a depressing reality for many women today. Ovarian cysts are caused by a small irregularity in the menstrual cycle. During ovulation, a cyst-like structure called a follicle is formed inside the ovary – this is perfectly normal.

The mature follicle ruptures when an egg is released during ovulation. The corpus luteum forms from the empty follicle and if you are not pregnant, the corpus luteum dissolves. But if this does not dissolve as it should, then an ovarian cyst forms.

So basically, the cyst is a tiny fluid filled sac that builds up on the ovaries after the sac containing the egg at the time of menstruation (the follicle) does not go away, as is normally the case. These cysts can vary in size, and in some cases can just disappear without any intervention. But, with conventional medicine, ovarian cyst surgery becomes essential when the cysts grow abnormally large and do not vanish on their own, thereby leading to complications.

Ovarian cyst surgery is usually the third option. First, doctors will try a wait and see approach, as the cyst might go away itself. If this does not happen, then the second treatment option is usually birth control pills. As these stop ovulation and regulate the hormones, they can be a quite effective treatment, so avoiding the need for ovarian cyst surgery.

But in some cases, the cyst (or cysts) continue to grow. As they get larger, they will cause more discomfort and pain, and increase the risk of other complications. At this stage, your doctor is likely to recommend surgery to remove the cysts.

All three of these approaches have problems. Just waiting can be very distressing for women, particularly when suffering quite severe pain. Birth control has side effects, and is obviously not an option for women trying to conceive. Ovarian cyst surgery, like any surgery, carries its own risks, and is not to be undertaken lightly.

The fundamental failure of all three options is that they fail to address the underlying cause of the ovarian cysts. This means that even if the cysts do go away (or are removed) they are quite likely to come back again.

The one ovarian cyst treatment which does address this issue is the natural holistic approach. This works on the basis that the only way you can ever cure your ovarian cysts permanently is from within, by listening to what your body is trying to tell you, and working with it to free yourself.

Covering areas like diet, nutrition, ph balance, and many others, this natural approach has been used by thousands of women around the world to end their suffering for good, without any drugs or surgery.

Natural Remedies for Ovarian Cyst Pain

Ovarian cysts are surprisingly common – an estimated 90% of women are likely to experience ovarian cyst pain at some time during their reproductive life. In some cases, a woman will never even know that they actually have one – it will not show any symptoms or cause any pain and will simply disappear itself. These are the lucky ones.

But in many cases, ovarian cysts can be painful and there are so many women who have to deal with this condition today that sometimes the ovarian cyst pain can really leave a woman crippled.

Pain is often the first visible symptom of an ovarian cyst, leading to its diagnosis. So if you have been diagnosed with this condition, ovarian cyst pain will be a part of your life, at least to some extent. With conventional treatment, you will have to live with it as long as you are not taking some form of medication (usually either birth control or pain killers).

The ultimate conventional solution for ovarian cyst pain relief is to go for surgery to remove the cysts from the body. Obviously this has its own risks, and there is no guarantee that the cysts will not simply grow back.

Before going to the extreme solutions for ovarian cyst pain relief, you could try some of the natural remedies that have been identified. With results varying from woman to woman, these natural remedies have been a great aid for many women.

Here are some natural remedies to relieve ovarian cyst pain:

• Herbalists suggest that there are many herbs that can relieve ovarian cyst pain while treating the condition from its roots. Since ovarian cyst pain is the result of hormonal imbalances created in the body, herbalists use a wide range of plants for restoring the balance and the harmony of the body.

However, herbal remedies for ovarian cyst pain cannot yield results overnight. Herbs, such as Chasteberry, Red Clover, Black Cohosh, Dandelion, Milk thistle, Wild Yam and Bee Pollen can be a great relief for ovarian cyst pain.

• Bach flowers can also relieve ovarian cyst pain. When bach flowers are used in combination with herbal medicine it can give you relief. Here combinations can include walnuts, wild oats, impatiens, red chestnut and honeysuckle.

• Using heat can be a great help for ovarian cyst pain; it soothes pain and gives relief almost instantly. You can use a heat pad for ovarian cyst pain relief.

• Doctors advise patients with ovarian cyst pain to wear loosely fitted clothes in order to prevent pressure on the midsection of their stomach. Tight clothes irritate the tumors and cause even more severe ovarian cyst pain.

• Drink lots of water for reducing ovarian cyst pain. It works well when combined with any of the aforementioned remedies.

Hemorrhagic Cysts: Symptoms And Treatment Techniques

An ovarian cyst is a sac filled with fluid which develops on the ovaries. The most common kind of ovarian cyst is a functional cyst – one which occurs during the normal functioning of the ovaries. Hemorrhagic cysts are a kind of functional ovarian cyst and are more common than the majority of women realize. They can be harmless and often come and go unnoticed. Occasionally however, problems do occur which need to be addressed by a doctor.

Hemorrhagic cysts are also known as blood cysts because blood is present in the fluid. These cysts develop when a blood vessel breaks in the cyst and bleeds into it. Although hemorrhagic cysts are normally harmless they can lead to abdominal pain, generally located on one side of body in the lower abdominal area. If the cyst ruptures, this can lead to grave pain plus discomfort in the entire abdominal region.

It is important to discuss your condition with your doctor and talk with him or her about a treatment plan. However, conventional medicine is limited in its ability to treat hemorrhagic cysts, as it tends to tackle the symptoms (the cysts themselves) rather than the underlying cause of the cysts. For this reason, while often getting rid of the cysts, they frequently come back again once treatment stops.

Hormone levels appear to play a vital role in development of cysts and an underlying hormonal imbalance can make a woman more prone to developing hemorrhagic cysts. There are controllable forces at work on our bodies constantly. Lifestyle plus eating habits play an important role in our overall health.

Stress can wreak havoc with a woman’s hormones and make her more prone to developing hemorrhagic cysts and other kinds of cysts – by reducing stress you can reduce your risks.

Diet also has am impact on hormone levels in the body – women who are overweight are more likely to develop hemorrhagic cysts, so losing weight is very beneficial. A natural approach to the treatment of ovarian cysts often also includes addition of vitamins and minerals to your diet.

This is the real benefit from a natural treatment approach – it tackles these underlying causes of ovarian cysts, giving much better long term results.

By adopting this approach, you could join the ranks of thousands of women who have completely cured their hemorrhagic cysts, permanently, by using natural therapy alone.

Ovarian Cyst Rupture: Symptoms, Complications, And Prevention

Ovarian cysts are very common, although often remain asymptomatic – in other words there are no symptoms, and some women with cysts do not even know that they have them. However, if your ovarian cyst ruptures, you will almost certainly know about it, because it can be excruciatingly painful.

An ovarian cyst is a fluid filled sac which develops on your ovary, usually because the egg has not been released at ovulation, and the follicle (or sac) fills with fluid.

This can go unnoticed and simply disappear, or it can continue to grow, in which case it usually starts to cause some abdominal pain. If it continues to grow, the pain usually gets worse. At some point the walls of the cyst may become weak and start to leak or even burst (just like a water balloon) – this is an ovarian cyst rupture.

When this happens, there is often severe and sudden pain, caused by the leaked fluid irritating the pelvic lining. The pain is similar to ‘standard’ ovarian cyst pain, but much sharper. In most cases, this pain will begin to reduce over a few days.

However, there can sometimes be complications from a ruptured ovarian cyst. The cyst can hemorrhage which can lead to serious blood loss, depending on exactly where and how the rupture took place.

It may be necessary to have a laparoscopy to be sure that there is no serious internal bleeding. This is the same procedure as is often used to surgically remove a cyst, but can also be used as a way to carry out a gynecological examination.

Torsion, or twisting of the ovary, is another possible complication of a ruptured ovarian cyst. If the twisting is severe, this have serious health consequences.  Ovarian torsion may restrict the blood supply to the ovary, which causes death of the ovarian tissue, known as ovarian necrosis – this can affect future fertility.

Restricted blood supply can also cause inflammation and infection, which if untreated can be life threatening.

It should be noted that in most cases, even if your cyst does rupture, there will be no complications and the pain will reduce after a few days. But if you think your cyst has ruptured, or if you have prolonged pain, you do need to seek medical attention, just in case.

To avoid a ruptured cyst, it is always best to treat the root causes so that the cysts do not appear in the first place. The best way to do this is by using natural holistic remedies which – unlike conventional medicine – do actually address these causes, and not just the symptoms, so have much better long term results.

Guide To Hemorrhagic Cysts Treatment

A hemorrhagic cyst sounds terrifying, but in reality is generally a completely natural plus normal part of the menstrual cycle of numerous women. The majority of hemorrhagic cysts disappear before you are aware that you have one. But for those of us with a bit less luck we can be debilitated by these cysts. Though the majority of these cysts are technically harmless, sometimes their effect can be so great that you need to go in for hemorrhagic cysts treatment.

What is a hemorrhagic cyst?

A hemorrhagic cyst is one where bleeding occurs inside the cyst. The most evident symptom is a jagged pain in your right side before ovulation. Oral birth control pills are generally prescribed for hemorrhagic cysts treatment as they can prevent ovulation, and so stop the cyst forming in the first place.

Unfortunately there are certain flaws in this form of treatment.

• Longer term utilization of birth control pills comes with its own risks. These risks far outweigh the risk related with hemorrhagic cyst.
• This form of treatment is obviously no good where you are hoping to conceive.
• Once you stop taking the pill, the cyst is likely to come back

There can be times when the hemorrhagic cysts treatment at home or with prescription medication just does not stop the pain. In these cases it is not unusual for your doctor to get an ultrasound done so that he or she can have a better look at your cyst and decide whether it needs to be removed.

Size alone will not determine whether the doctor will remove the cyst or not. Though an ultrasound can display cyst which are bigger than a centimeter, it is not unheard of for cysts of up to 6 cm to go away without further treatment – although obviously the bigger the cyst gets, the more likely it is to cause problems.

In some cases women will have their cyst removed surgically. Surgery however does not guarantee that cysts will not return, as it does not tackle the underlying cause. Natural hemorrhagic cysts treatment has become a popular alternative to traditional medical treatment.

Hemorrhagic cysts (and indeed all ovarian cysts) are merely symptoms of an enormous imbalance within the body. This can not only be treated naturally, but by doing so your cysts can even be permanently prevented from returning.

Symptoms Of Ovarian Cysts

The symptoms of ovarian cysts can be about as horrible as they come.  They can cause problems with your marriage and your family, problems at your work, and make your life something painful to deal with.

Some women experience a wide range of these afflictions while other women seem to have no problems at all.  If you are one of the millions of women all over the world in pain and distress over these problems then I want you to know something.  There is hope.

Before I go in to explaining the different symptoms I am going to first give you a little comfort and some advice.  The chances are in your favor that this cyst is harmless, in fact over 95% of all of these growths are harmless and not a cancer.  Still, it is very important that you see your doctor.

Make sure that you write out a list of all of your different symptoms and any questions that you may have for your doctor.  Now, on to the symptoms of ovarian cysts.

The most common symptom of ovarian cysts is the dull aches.  These dull aches are usually in on one, or both sides of the lower abdomen, however they can also take place in the lower back, the pelvis, the vagina, and the upper part of the thighs.  They can also come in the form of sudden and extreme pains.  These can both be irregular occurrences or be a constant feeling.

Headaches, nausea, and vomiting are often very common as well.  You can experience nausea throughout the day at random and unexpected times or it can be constantly present.  The headaches as well are very common.

Fatigue, bloating and weight gain are also common side effects of these cysts so if you are experiencing any of these feelings you should get it checked out.

Many women have reported that they have had irregular periods and spotting.  Others have noted that they felt pain and discomfort directly before or after their menstrual periods and some felt pain during the period itself. Pain in the ribs has also been known to happen, the pain is more of a muscular pain in nature.  Swelling in the abdomen and tenderness in the breast have also been reported.

If you are suffering through any of these symptoms then you know just how debilitating they can be.  Before things get really bad you should make an appointment to see your doctor.  There are different forms of treatment for ovarian cysts available to you but many come at a high cost.

You can choose to undergo hormone therapy but this can have complications.  Some women opt for surgery but this is expensive and takes time to heal.  Many women feel that drugs and various medications are the best way to go but many of these pills can have awful side affects that not only make the situation worse, they also may not even cure the problem.

The best choice is always going to be the all natural treatment of both the symptoms of ovarian cysts and the the cysts themselves.  You can see results in as little as three days and can eliminate the cysts all together in as little as two months without any dangerous surgery or harmful drugs.

What Is A Dermoid Cyst?

A dermoid cyst is a benign tumor which develops in the ovaries of women during their reproductive years, and mostly in younger women. It is also known as benign mature cystic teratomas, and is responsible for about one third of benign tumors diagnosed every year.

There is only an extremely small percentage of these benign tumors which turn malignant (cancerous); however if not treated they can still cause serious health problems.

There are two kinds of ovarian cyst, namely functional and complex. The dermoid cyst falls in the complex category. Unlike other cysts, which are mostly liquid, dermoid cysts are made of solid materials, such as hair follicles, teeth, fat, nails, bones. This may sound strange, but is explained by the source of the cyst – it develops from an egg, which is of course capable of growing any type of human tissue.

Women often get dermoid cysts which then disappear themselves without any treatment. There are generally initially no symptoms of a dermoid cyst, and it is frequently through pelvic examination that women become aware of this condition at all.

But in some cases the cyst gets very enlarged – a dermoid cyst can grow to up to 15 cm in diameter. When this happens it tends to twist, causing the person to experience extreme pain in the abdominal area. There are even times when it stops the blood flow which can have grave consequences.

The natural and holistic approach is generally the most effective way of treating ovarian cysts as it deals with the problem by finding out the root causes and treating them. Once the root causes are cured, it is a lot less likely that cyst will return again. This is the main reason why this approach is successful in treating all types of ovarian cysts.

But a dermoid cyst is the exception. Unlike other types of cysts, the natural and holistic approach is not guaranteed to cure a dermoid cyst – surgery is usually the only way to remove it.

This is because the cyst is made of solid material, rather than just being a fluid filled sac. With other types of ovarian cysts, once the cause is treated, the cyst will disappear naturally. But a solid cyst usually still has to be removed surgically.

Having said that, there is a danger that dermoid cysts will reoccur after surgery. Many women have stopped this happening by correcting their internal balance using the natural holistic approach. If you or any of your loved ones suffer from any type of cyst, this approach could make a real difference.
